I think we need to begin thinking differently about Highway 99—its future is as a safer, greener, multimodal boulevard. … It needs to be reimagined and—as with so many other examples—we can bring a new spirit of collaboration to this work.

Context

MovingAhead was a partnership between the City of Eugene, Lane Transit District, and other regional partners. It explored transportation investments along some of our most important streets. In Spring 2022, local policymakers selected Enhanced Corridor as the locally preferred alternative for Highway 99 and directed staff to undertake further study.
