Peter Simmeth
Better Streets Policy Intern
Peter Simmeth has a passion for making safer streets that build community, and to do that professionally is studying community and regional planning at the UO. Before going back to school he was a long-term substitute teacher in 4J, where he taught at almost all of the middle and high schools. There he saw how critical active transportation is to the mobility and independence of young people, and it inspired him to think about how our roads serve all members of our community.
When he’s not talking at his friends about curb bump outs and bus frequencies, he loves long-distance backpacking, swimming, and reading by the Willamette. He’s looking forward to working with the community to build a safer and more connected River Road.
