Peter Simmeth
Better Streets Policy Intern
Peter Simmeth is a graduate student at the UO focused on improving the experience of getting around our community. By adapting our streets to be more comfortable to walk and roll around, we open the door to a more environmentally and economically sustainable future.
Before the Masters of Community and Regional Planning program and working for BEST, Peter was a volunteer advocate through BEST’s Walking Cycle of Change and a Guest Teacher in 4J School District teaching middle and high school science. It was at schools like Churchill HS and Cal Young MS where he saw how critical active transportation is to young people’s independence and ability to live in the community.
On weekends you can find Peter backpacking, reading on the river path or floating down the Willamette.
